Mary Lou Ricker
OTTAWA – Mary Lou Ricker, 95, of Ottawa passed away at 11:45 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2022 at the Meadows of Ottawa. She was born September 24, 1927 in Chauncey, Ohio to the late William and Esther (Warren) Verity. On September 3, 1949, she married James J. Ricker, who preceded her in death on September 16, 2002.
Survivors include four children: David Lee (Linda) Ricker of Ayersville, Deborah Sue (Roger) Peterson of Ottawa, Becky J. (Tom) Miner of Continental and Dale Allen Ricker of Kalida; a daughter-in-law, Kay Ricker of Leipsic; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, James Ricker, Jr.; a grandchild, Alexis Ricker; and two brothers: Robert Verity and William Jackson Verity.
Mary Lou retired after 21 years from Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa, where she worked as a nurse’s aide. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf and Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Glandorf. She loved playing bingo, scratch-off lottery tickets and watching The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Funeral Mass will begin 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Steve Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2022, with a scripture service at 5:45 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
