Melvin Hedrick
GLANDORF – Melvin Hedrick, of Glandorf, died at 3:54 a.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the Meadows of Ottawa. He was born December 18, 1938 to the late Sylvester and Florentine (Nartker) Hedrick. On November 3, 1973 he married Rose Morman, who survives in Glandorf.
Melvin is survived by three daughters: Lorie (Jason) Grothause of Ft Jennings, Jennifer (Tom) Wise of West Chester, and Amy Hedrick of Ottawa; 4 grandchildren: Casey Wise, Braeden Grothause, Emily Wise and Adysen Grothause; two sisters: Edna Nienberg of Glandorf and Janet McDaniel of Orlando, FL, one brother in law: Karl Ellerbrock of Glandorf.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Ellerbrock, and brothers in law: Denny Nienberg and John McDaniel.
Melvin was a member of St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Glandorf, loved doing woodworking and tinkering in his shop. He enjoyed skiing with family and friends, bowling and following his grandkids in their many activities.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Father Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery in Glandorf. In keeping with the social distancing guidelines, a visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. Masks will be required upon entering the funeral home and church. There will be a parish rosary 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
