Mildred “Millie” M. Brubaker
HAMLER - Mildred “Millie” M. (Schroeder) Brubaker, age 92, passed away Monday, August 31, 2020, at the Meadows of Leipsic after battling congestive heart failure.
Mildred was born on May 16, 1928 to Frank J. and Theresia G. (Winkler) Schroeder in Leipsic, Ohio. Mildred married Joseph R. Brubaker on May 26, 1948, at St. Mary’s Catholic Parish in Leipsic and they had just celebrated 72 years of marriage.
Surviving relatives include her husband Joseph and 5 children and spouses: Kenneth (Carol) Brubaker and Daniel (Christine) Brubaker of Hamler, Barbara Tuttle, Findlay; Patricia (Henry) Godeke of Deshler, and Linda (Jan) Bernath of Wauseon. Mildred had 13 grandchildren: Jeremy Brubaker, Kelly (Allen) Theisen, Kimberly (Jeff) Gillow, Karri (Tony) Benishek, Stefanie Eis, Jaclyn (Jerry) Davis, Amy (Chris) Tran, Nathan (Emily) Bernath, Dawn (JonPaul) Conley, Jenna (Scott) Creque, Jaron (Karla) Bernath, Elizabeth (Austin) Bower, and Micah (engaged to Emma Bowden) Bernath. Mildred had 25 plus 1 on the way great-grandchildren: Marissa and Donavon Gillow, Kindra, Erica, Lydia and Levi Theisen, Cole and Ayden Benishek, Justine, Jolynn, and Jilian Eis, Brandon and Tessa Davis, Novak Bower, Zoey and Zachary Tran, Taylor Conley, London, Layke and Lucca Bernath, Jayden, Clairissa, and Lincoln Creque, Lena and Clark Bernath. Millie’s surviving in-laws include Karis Schroeder, Bernita Brubaker, and Mary Jane Brubaker.
Mildred was the last surviving child of the late Frank and Theresia (Winkler) Schroeder. Deceased siblings (spouses) include: Ralph (Alice) Schroeder, Sister Mary Victor Thelma Schroeder, Kathryn (Leo) Rieman, Ray (Ialeen) Schroeder, Syvilla (Al) Odenweller, Guy Schroeder, Marie (Abe) Lammers, and in-laws: Angela (Carl) Beindorf, Eugene Brubaker, and Francis Brubaker
Millie was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Hamler and involved with the Altar Rosary Society, Funeral Dinner Committee, Festival Food Committee, and the Prayer Chain. She famously enjoyed playing Bingo and cards, shopping at garage sales, and tackling Word Search Puzzles.
The family asks that due to the health concerns during this pandemic, to please be mindful that a mask and distancing will be expected for the visitation and the funeral mass. Funeral Mass will be conducted by Father Nicholas Cunningham at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Hamler, Ohio at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September, 4, 2020. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery after the mass. The visitation will be Thursday, September 3, 2020 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass on Friday at the church. The family suggestion in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Paul’s Chapel of Hamler, Ohio, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
