Norman J. Lammers
MILLER CITY – Norman J. Lammers, 86, of Miller City died 7:54 a.m., Monday, July 19, 2021 at The Meadows of Leipsic. He was born March 11, 1935 in Putnam County to the late Arthur H. and Lauretta C. (Wagner) Lammers. On April 12, 1958, he married Jane L. Miller and she survives in Leipsic.
Norm is also survived by nine children: David (Shirley Maynard) Lammers of Napoleon, Mark Lammers of Leipsic, James (Joan) Lammers of Miller City, Robert Lammers of New Bavaria, Anita (Tony) Stechschulte of Miller City, Fred (Melissa) Lammers of Curtice, Julie (Aaron) Kahle of Glandorf, Joe (Megan) Lammers of Kettering and Angela (Bill) Rumbaugh of Deshler; 35 grandchildren: Randy, Adam, Hannah, Luke, Zach, Abby, Hope, Josiah, Noah, Caleb, Ethan, Preston, Dreema, RyLeigh, Morgan, Bryceton, Tyler, Ryan, Shane, Allysa, Jordan, Kelvin, Stevan, Jacob, Alex, Anthony, Justin, Grace, Lincoln, Ben, Isa, Josh, Dalton, Isabell and Blake; 23 great-grandchildren; a brother Eugene (Margaret) Lammers of Leipsic; a sister, Dolores (Gerry) Wenzinger of New Bavaria; and a sister-in-law, Dolores Lammers of New Cleveland.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Lammers.
Norm retired in 1999 after 28 years as a professor of engineering for Lima Technical College and The Ohio State University, Lima campus. He had also worked for the University of Toledo, Toledo Edison and Ohio Power. As a professional engineer, Norm designed several buildings including the Ottawa Knights of Columbus, Harvest Fellowship Church in Hamler, First Baptist Church in Holgate and other municipal building throughout Putnam County. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City where he served on several committees, Ottawa Knights of Columbus, former treasurer for Holy Family Catholic Radio, ETA KAPPA NU Society, TAU ALPHA PI Society and IEEE Institute.
A funeral mass will begin 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City with Fr. Scott Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30 p.m. and vigil service to follow. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at the church on Wednesday.
