Paul F. Stechschulte
KALIDA - Paul F. Stechschulte, 85 of Kalida died 10:30 p.m. Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born August 16, 1935 in Lima to the late Urban J. and Elizabeth (Hohenbrink) Stechschulte. On May 2, 1959 he married Marjorie Miller, she survives in Kalida.
He is also survived by his children: Tim J. (Cindy) Stechschulte of Chocowinity, NC, Michael P. (Cindy) Stechschulte and Alan J. (Kelly) Stechschulte, both of Kalida; a daughter-in-law: Kris Stechschulte of Kalida; nine grandchildren: Taylor (Adhul) Kalpurackal, Alex (Courtney) Stechschulte, Madison (Patrick Hainlink) Stechschulte, Brian Stechschulte, Brandon (Darcy) Stechschulte, Drew (Nikki) Stechschulte, Evan Stechschulte, Caitlin (Joe Roof) Stechschulte, Aubrey Stechschulte; four great-grandchildren: Claire, Jack, Jonas and Mila Stechschulte; a sister: Ruth Stechschulte of Cincinnati; and a sister-in-law: Helen Stechschulte of Kansas City, KS
Paul is preceded in death by a son: Gary Stechschulte; and a brother: Dan Stechschulte.
Paul worked maintenance and retired in 1997 from Philips ECG after 42 years. After retirement he worked part time at Country Acres Golf Course, mowing mainly the fairways for 14 years. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, and its Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Ottawa Eagles, Lima Moose Lodge, Kalida K of C, and a social member of the Ottawa VFW. Paul coached his sons in little league baseball for ten plus years. He was a Cleveland Indians and Browns fan and he followed Notre Dame Football, and a NASCAR fan. He loved his Kalida Wildcats and following his sons and grandchildren in their sports. Paul enjoyed golfing and traveling to Michigan Speedway with his friends. Paul enjoyed life to the fullest with his family and friends.
Funeral mass will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2020 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In keeping with the social distancing guidelines, a visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Masks are required upon entering the church. Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
