Pauline O. Ginther
OTTAWA – Pauline O. Ginther, 99, of Ottawa, passed away at 4:15 a.m., Thursday, November 9, 2023, at The Meadows of Leipsic. She was born July 10, 1924, in Gilboa to the late Paul and Lucille (Miller) Oren. On March 6, 1943 she married John Ginther, who preceded her in death on October 1, 1979.
Survivors include 3 children: Diane (Tom) Stokes of Myrtle Beach, Joe (Joyce) Ginther of Ottawa and Kathy (Don) Bergman of Boise, ID; a daughter-in-law: Phyllis Ginther of Leipsic; 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren and a sister: Shirley (Bob) Wineberg of Findlay.
She was also preceded in death by a son: Terry Ginther; and 2 sisters: Martha (Martin) Stahl and May (Curtis) Baldridge.
Pauline was a homemaker, farm wife and partner on the family farm. She was a member of the Women’s Society of Gilboa United Methodist Church and was a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed playing basketball, watching OSU play every football game and snowmobiling. She also enjoyed playing cards with a close community of friends who called themselves “country club.”
Funeral services will begin 3:00 p.m., Monday, November 13, 2023, at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, 916 East Main St., Ottawa, OH 45875 with Pastor Ruth Carter-Crist officiating. Burial will follow at Harman Cemetery, Gilboa. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
