Phillip Michael Limpach
OTTAWA - Phillip Michael Limpach, born Sept. 10, 1961, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2022 at James Cancer Treatment and Research Center in Columbus, Ohio. A native of Ottawa, Phillip is the beloved son of Mary Limpach and Clete Limpach (deceased). He is brother to Pat Limpach (Columbus, Ohio) Angela Chostner (St. Louis, MO) and Alice Alvarez, (Westchester, NY) He is a favorite uncle to Elliot, Simon and Eve Limpach, Noah and Anastasia Chostner, Sofia and Apollo Alvarez. He will be fondly remembered for his bear hugs, airplane rides and infectious laugh.
Phillip was valedictorian of Ottawa Glandorf High School class of 1979. With a BSME from Ohio State University, he was a Teacher's Assistant in the Mechanical Engineering Department, and kept his students engaged and delighted by his antics. Later, as a contract mechanical engineer, Phil worked for various employers. A highlight for him was his role as production engineer at Chrysler Jeep.
A lifelong runner, one of Phil’s proudest moments was running the Pikes Peak Ascent in 1999. This run requires proven experience on difficult runs, rigorous training and preparation. Phil’s perseverance, self discipline, and love of challenge made him the consummate endurance athlete.

Memorial Mass Saturday, Feb. 12, 12 PM. St. Peter and Paul Church, 307 N Locust St, Ottawa.
Burial at a later date: St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, 867 W. Main St, Ottawa
