Raymond J. Erford

   LEIPSIC - Raymond J. Erford, 93, of Leipsic died 1:25 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2020 at his residence.  He was born in Henry County to the late Peter A. and Effie (Bauhaus) Erford.  On September 4, 1946 he married Vera Ruth McCullough, and they were married for 64 years. She preceded him in death on March 10, 2011.

   He is survived by 4 children:  Diana (David) Koenig of Continental, Doyle (Lois) Erford of Miller City, Debra (Mark) Allen of Greensboro, NC and Dean (Becky) Erford of Caryville, TN; 18 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way. 

   Raymond is preceded in death by a son: Dennis Erford; 4 brothers:  Robert, Gilbert "Bus", Cletus and Charles Erford; 3 sisters:  Sr. Josita Erford, Sara Erford and Rita VonderEmbse.

   Raymond retired from Rusco Corporation, formerly of Pandora and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic.  He was also a member of the Leipsic Eagles and the Miller City Sportsmen's Club.  Raymond really enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends.  He also enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

   Due to restrictions regarding public gatherings, there will be a funeral mass for the immediate family only at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2020 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City with Monsignor Charles Singler officiating.  Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.  The mass will be streamed live on the St. Nicholas-Holy Family Parish Facebook page.
