Rebecca M. Thornton
MILLER CITY – Rebecca M. Thornton, 75, of Miller City, died at 3:37 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born October 5, 1945 in Findlay to the late Dale and Janice (Harrington) Burnham. On June 13, 1964, she married Richard F. Thornton, he survives in Miller City.
Also surviving are two sons: Richard D.(Barb) Thornton of Columbus Grove, and Jon (Amy) Thornton of Springboro; five grandchildren: Richard C. (Michelle Darby) Thornton, Jolene (Kyle) Strohl, Amanda Thornton, Ashley Thornton, and Richard L. Thornton; two step-grandchildren: Tom Bogart, and Chad Bogart; three great-grandchildren: Richard “Casey” Thornton, Jordi Thornton, and Charlotte Strohl; one step-great-granddaughter: Aubrey Bogart; and a brother: James (Terri) Burnham.
She is preceded in death by a brother, Ray S. Burnham.
Rebecca was a 1963 graduate of Findlay High School, she was in the last class before the new school. She had retired from Hancock Gas Company, worked at Mac & Rita's for 10 years, and was the former Village Clerk for the Village of Miller City. Rebecca was a member of the Miller City Fire Ladies.
Funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Rev. Michael Baumgartner officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Miller City. A visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
