Richard W. Nickols, Jr.

  PAULDING – Richard W. Nickols, Jr., 63, of Paulding, died 1:54 p.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on November 29, 1958 in Paulding to Richard and Janis (Marihugh) Nickols. On December 5, 1992, he married Joan Overbaugh.  She survives in Paulding.

  Other survivors include four children: Kathy (Josh Clementz) Eutsler of Cloverdale, Jeromy (Jodi) Nickols of Van wert, Sarah (Logan) Englehart of Antwerp and Sam Nickols of Grover Hill; 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; and four sisters: Cheryl (Jeff), Lou (Tom), Angela (Keith) and Shannon (Pat).

  Richard was an engineer for Alliance Automation.  He was a member of Church of the Nazarene, Paulding where he was a missionary and Sunday school teacher. Richard was a master of all trades and a very hard worker.  He could solve any problem put in front of him.  He enjoyed restoring cars, was very artistic and had a great sense of humor. Richard was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather and great-grandfather.

  A funeral service will begin 12:00 p.m., Monday, September 26, 2022 at Church of the Nazarene, Paulding with Pastor Jeremy Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Hedges Cemetery, Broughton.  Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Monday at the church.

  Arrangements are under the direction of HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood.
