Rita E. Warnimont
MILLER CITY – Rita E. Warnimont, 95, of Miller City, died at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at the Meadows of Ottawa. She was born December 1, 1925 in Ottawa to the late August and Selena (Boerger) Michel. On September 16, 1950 she married William B. Warnimont, he preceded her in death on August 15, 2004.
Rita is survived by six children: Joyce Schmidt of Ottawa, Tom (Doris) Warnimont, Ben (Linda) Warnimont, Roger (Linda) Warnimont, Carl (Jane) Warnimont, all of Miller City, Marty Warnimont of Ottawa; a daughter-in-law: Karen Warnimont of Ottawa; eighteen grandchildren; twenty eight great-grandchildren; a sister: Edith Kleman of North Creek; two sisters-in-law: Mary Ann Michel and Eileen Klausing, both of Ottawa.
She is also preceded in death by two sons: Richard and Steven Warnimont; a daughter-in-law: Becky (Wehri) Warnimont; a grandson: Stephen Schmidt; five brothers: Clair, Francis, Harry, Paul and Richard Michel; and three sisters: Grace Bendele, Anne Michel, and Lauretta Foughty.
Rita was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City. She was a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, and the Rosary Altar, where she held several offices. Rita was a church volunteer at Friday masses with elementary children. She was also a member of Miller City Sportsman Club, and Mac and Rita’s Coffee Club. She loved to travel and bake pies. Rita had a passion for praying the rosary. One of the many family traditions she enjoyed was making and eating blood pudding.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday March 8, 2021 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City with Msgr. Charles Singler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In keeping with the social distancing guidelines, a visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa and again on Monday at 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass at the church. Masks will be required upon entering the funeral home and church.
