Robert H. Hanneman 

  GLANDORF - Robert H. Hanneman, age 82 of Glandorf passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 9:37 pm at home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 29, 1936 in Glandorf to the late Frank & Clara (Birkemeier) Hanneman. On July 4, 1962 he married Jane (Dickrede) and she survives in Glandorf.

   Other survivors include five children: Cindy (Dave) Burgei, Ottoville, Jeff (Janice) Hanneman, Columbus Grove, Melanie (Mike) Lauth, Glandorf, Amy (Tony) Kahle, Spencerville, Traci (Keith) Schierloh, Glandorf, a German exchange student Markus (Teej) Mueller, Port St. Lucia, FL, who was like a son to him, eight grandchildren: Kyle (Megan) Hanneman, Ostrander, Ryan (Claire) Hanneman, Pandora, Brittany (Nathan) Kahle, Glandorf, Brandon Lauth, Glandorf, Jenna Kahle, Spencerville, Chandler Kahle, Spencerville, Derrick (Jessica Leis) Schierloh, Glandorf, Drew Schierloh, Cincinnati, one great grandchild: Lillian Hanneman and one on the way, two sisters Mary Balbaugh, Miller City, Norie Schnipke, Kalida, one brother-in-law Walter Hoehn, Lima. He was preceded in death by siblings: Sylvester (Edna), Ignatius, Francis (Mary Ann), Joe (Rita), Rita (John) Gerten, Agnes Hoehn, Tom (Margie), brother-in-law Bill Schnipke, brother-in-law Neil Balbaugh.

   Bob was a 1954 graduate of Glandorf High School and served in the National Guard for 6 years. He retired from the former WC Woods Co., Ottawa, a self-employed electrician and farmer. He was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf where he sang in the choir for over 60 years.     He was a member of St. John’s Men’s Society, Glandorf Rod & Gun Club and he sang in the Glandorf Four Barbershop Quartet along with Tom Knapke, Jack Quinn and Bob Quinn.

   Following Bob’s wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Family will be present at the church two hours prior to Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:30 on Friday, August 10, 2018, with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Love Funeral Home, Ottawa.

   In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. John the Baptist Church Maintenance Fund or to Putnam County HomeCare and Hospice.
