Rodney L. Alt
OTTAWA – Rodney L. Alt, 56, of Ottawa, passed away at 7:37 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus surrounded by family. He was born April 9, 1966 in Lima to Donald and Dolores (Brinkman) Alt, who survive in Ottawa. On April 25, 1992, he married Lisa Ellerbrock, who survives in Ottawa.
Other survivors include four children: Derek (Portia Simchick) Alt of Ottawa, Nathan (Makenna) Alt of Ottawa, Jordan (Max) Kuhlman of Miller City and Taylor (Trevor Siefker) Alt of Ottawa; one grandson, Kendrick Alt; five siblings: Steve (Jane) Alt of Glandorf, Jeff (Brenda) Alt of Powell, OH, Dan (Jacque) Alt of New Knoxville, TN, Janice (Phil) Heuker of Temperance, MI and Keith (Lisa) Alt of Ottawa; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; in-laws: Randy (Sue Fiorucci) Ellerbrock, Brian (Tanya) Ellerbrock and Stacey (BJ) Baxter; and his best friend, Mocha.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Philip Alt.
Rodney worked for Redline Equipment, Ottawa, where he was a territory sales manager. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. Rodney loved football. He played football for Western Michigan University and was a former midget football coach. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends at The Compound.
Funeral Mass will begin 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 13, 2023 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Rick Friebel and Fr. Scott Kramer officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
