Ronald E. Lammers
COLUMBUS GROVE – Ronald E. Lammers, 73, of Columbus Grove, died peacefully surrounded by his family of an intracranial hemorrhage at 10:17 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. He was born December 1, 1947 in Lima to the late Melvin H. and Edith (Aldrich) Lammers. On June 14, 1969, he married Mary Jane Niese, she survives in Ottawa.
Ron is also survived by five children: Hope (Greg) Brinkman of Ottawa, Amy (Joseph) Gremillion of Louisiana, Curtis (Abbie) Lammers of Florida, Elton (Amy) Lammers of Ottawa, Faith (Neil) Stechschulte of Columbus Grove; seventeen grandchildren: Alexandra, Griffin, and Dante Brinkman, Austin Wise, Lexi Ordway, Lani, Dazi, and Beau Lammers, Gabriel and Maria Gremillion, Brock, Barrett and Brogan Lammers, Grace, Kayla, Graham and Kade Stechschulte; a brother: William Lammers of Ottawa; two sisters: Diane Mershman of Ottawa, and Joyce Lammers of Alaska.
He is preceded in death by a son, Albert Lammers; and a brother, James Lammers.
Ron was a substitute teacher for the migrant program in Putnam County. He was also a licensed massage therapist. He was a member of the Columbus Grove VFW and a life member of the Ottawa K of C. Ron enjoyed attending craft shows and doing woodcarving and camping at River Bend Campground. He also liked to bowl in Leipsic. Ron adored his grandchildren and he was always there for them.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Scott Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by Ottawa VFW, American Legion and AMVets. A visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with a K of C Rosary starting at 7:30 p.m., and again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at the church.
