Ronald P. “Speedy” Menke
FORT JENNINGS – Ronald P. “Speedy” Menke, 64, of Fort Jennings, passed away at 8:58 a.m. on Wednesday, January 05, 2022 at his residence. He was born March 2, 1957 in Lima to Ralph and Ruth P. (Sawmiller) Menke. On July 28, 1995 he married Peggy Sue Jenkins, she survives in Fort Jennings.
Ron is also survived by seven children: Travis (Charissan) Menke, Kimberly (William) Davis, Krysten Menke, Shane Menke, Jessica Wannemacher, Amber (Kyle) Haskins, and Jacob (Allison) McElroy; sixteen grandchildren: Mariah, Cody, Destinie, Dalton, Dominic, Gretchen, Anakin, Abram, Ryleigh, Kacie, Kallie, Kael, Aiden, Wyatt, Lakynn, and Bryor; four siblings: Shirley Odenweller, David (Lisa) Menke, Sharma Bidlack, and Dennis (Tina) Menke; and mother-in-law: Raellen Hoblet.
He is preceded in death by a son, Rodney Menke; brothers-in-law, John Bidlack and Carl Clark; and father-in-law, Thomas Hoblet.
Ron was a member of the Van Wert VFW, Delphos Coon Club, Do-Right Motorcycle Club and Iron Brotherhood Motorcycle Club. He loved hunting, fishing, being outdoors and riding his Harley. He adored his wife, children and grandchildren and loved being surrounded by them. Ron loved helping others.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings with Father Jerome Schetter officiating and Father Charles Obinwa co-celebrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 2 to 8 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township, and on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
