Ronald A. Pohlman
OTTAWA - Ronald A. Pohlman, 78, of Ottawa, died in the early morning hours on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He was born June 24, 1942 in Lima, Ohio to the late Alphons and Adeline (Wellman) Pohlman. On April 30, 1966 he married Joan Kuhlman who survives in Ottawa.
Ronald is survived by his sons: Jeff (Connie) Pohlman of Ottawa, Mark (Doug O'Neal) Pohlman and Darrin Pohlman of Columbus; a sister: Rita (Norbert "Piney") Suever of Landeck; sisters-in-law: Pat (Mel) Williams of Lima, Imogene Ellerbrock of Ottawa; brother-in-law: Gary (Peggy) Kuhlman of New Cleveland; four grandchildren: Zach, Haley, Averie and Kasie Pohlman; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Ronald was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Ambrose and Helen Kuhlman; brothers: Melvin (RitaMae) Pohlman, Gilbert Pohlman; sisters: Mary Catherine (Sally) Looser, Delores Meyer, Lucille Ellerbrock and Jane Ricker; brothers-in-law: Bernard Looser, Eugene Meyer, Robert L. Ellerbrock and John Ricker Jr.
Ronald was a graduate of Delphos St. John High School. Early in life, Ronald hauled milk for Pohlman Brothers Supply. Later, he was a foreman at Louisana-Pacific in Ottawa, secretary of the Eagles in Ottawa, and a realtor for Tony Langhals Realty LLC in Ottoville. Ronald was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church where he trained and helped mass servers for 13 years, as well as serving as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector for many years. He was very proud of his time serving in various positions with the Knights of Columbus (Council 1757) including Grand Knight for two terms (1996-1997 & 2000-2001). Ronald was also a member of the 4th Degree and served in most all of the chairs within the 4th Degree.
Funeral mass will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Rev. Andrew Wellmann and Father Scott Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with the K of C Rosary at 7:45 p.m. and 4th Degree Chalice Service at 8:00 p.m. Saturday visitation will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Mass will be live-streamed on the church's Facebook page. Due to regulations regarding COVID-19 and social distancing guidelines, masks are required upon entering the church and/or funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul School Education Foundation Fund, Sts. Peter and Paul Capital Campaign, and/or Putnam County Homecare and Hospice.
