Ronald “Ron” Landin
OTTOVILLE – Ronald “Ron” Landin, 56, of Ottoville died 4:48 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at his residence. He was born August 25, 1965, in Lima to Dennis C. and Martha (Gerding) Landin. His father is deceased, and his mother survives in Ottoville. On October 21, 2006, he married Christina “Chris” Johnson, who survives.
Also surviving is a son: Cody Landin, at home; a sister: Connie (Nick) Selhorst of Kalida; 2 brothers: John (Melinda) Landin of Kalida and Jeff (Kelly) Landin of Ottoville; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Brook (Brian) Roller of Elida and Jason (Elizabeth) Johnson of St. Mary’s; 5 nephews: Brandon (Sarah) Selhorst, Kyle (Tiffany) Landin, Bryce Selhorst, Jordan Landin and Wyatt Landin; along with 2 great nieces and 2 great nephews.
He is preceded in death by a nephew, Marcus Landin and his mother-in-law, Patricia Johnson.
Ron was a lifelong farmer and had formerly been a mechanic with General Dynamics. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Some of his hobbies included raising cattle and pigs and working as a sprint car racing mechanic. He has been very involved in Putnam County 4H, the Ohio Cattleman’s Association and the Ohio Farm Bureau. His greatest loves were enjoying time with Chris and Cody and being involved in Landin Show Cattle with his son, Cody and his brother, Jeff.
The funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father George Mahas officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 8p.m. and again on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township, where a scripture service will be held at 1:45 p.m. Friday.
