  OTTAWA – Rose A. Williams, 96 of Ottawa died 8:53 a.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Putnam Heritage Assisted Living in Ottawa.  She was born March 6, 1924 in Ottawa to the late Charles B. and Mary A. (Brinkel) White.  On May 8, 1946, she married Dewey M. Williams.  He died July 4, 1991.

   Survivors include three children: Robert ”Bob” (Doris) Williams, John “Jack” (Michelle) Williams and Marsha (Rick) Laubenthal all of Ottawa; twelve grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

  She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Stephen Brandon Williams; and five siblings: Mary Rita White, Joseph White, Jane Weber, Rev. Paul White and Claire Geier.

  Rose retired after 44 years from Radabaugh & Otto / Readmore Bookstore.  She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia, as well as the Ottawa VFW and American Legion Auxiliary.  Rose was a 1943 graduate of Sts. Peter and Paul High School.  She loved her grandchildren dearly as they were her whole world.  Rose was a very charitable woman who taught her family the importance of giving back to the community.

  Funeral mass will begin at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church.  Masks are required upon entrance into the church.  A live streaming of the mass will be available on the Sts. Peter and Paul Facebook page.

  Memorial donations may be given to Putnam County Home Health and Hospice, Sts. Peter and Paul Capital Campaign Fund or the charity of the donor’s choice.
