Ruperto G. "Beto" Rodriguez

GILBOA – Ruperto G. "Beto" Rodriguez, of Gilboa, died 7:48 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  He was born April 7, 1944 in Hidalgo County, TX to the late Ruperto and Carmen (Guerra) Rodriguez.  On November 15, 1964, he married Maria Torres, she survives in Gilboa.

  Other survivors include seven children: Ruperto (Mary) Rodriguez, Rolando (Belyna) Rodriguez, Raul (Mary) Rodriguez, Mary Ann Rodriguez, Rene (Tammi) Rodriguez, Brenda (Ricardo) Rodriguez, and Fidela (Lia) Rodriguez; 25 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren;  and two sisters: Olivia Navarro of Stafford, TX and Eva Garcia of Edinburg, TX.

  He was also preceded in death by an infant son: Ruben Rodriguez; a grandson: David Rodriguez; two great-granddaughters: Maya Schroeder and Nyla Rodriguez; a great-grandson: Aden Sanchez; and six siblings: Moises Rodriguez, Refugio Rodriguez, Ramiro Rodriguez, Noe Rodriguez, Irene Rodriguez and Marcelina Gonzales.

  This is what you need to know about this most loved and respected man:  Beto loved life, and he loved his WHOLE family.  No matter what anyone said, Beto lived life HIS way.  His presence will be missed and the life lessons and knowledge he shared will be treasured.

  Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Deacon Ben Valdez officiating.  Burial will follow in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa.  Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. and again on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
