Ruth Marie Ford

  CONTINENTAL – Ruth Marie Ford, 83, of Continental, passed away at 1:36 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  She was born May 1, 1940, in Avis to the late Frank and Marcele (Schmitt) Korte.  On July 18, 1959, she married Paul D. Ford, who preceded her in death on May 22, 2005.

  Ruth is survived by two sons: Gary (Laurie) Ford, and Steve (Michele) Ford, both of Continental; a daughter: Paula (John) Keefer of Ottawa; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

  She is preceded in death by two sons, Marvin and Daniel Ford; 4 brothers, Paul, Richard, Cletus and Thomas Korte; and a sister, Eileen Kahle.

  Ruth was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church, Cloverdale.  She volunteered with the Putnam County Thrift Store.  Ruth was an avid scrabble player, and she also enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and refinishing furniture.

  Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2023, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Continental, with Father John Stites officiating.  Burial will be held at a later date.  A visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at HEITEMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental, and again on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

  Memorial donations may be made to the Putnam County Thrift Store or Putnam County Homecare and Hospice.
