Ruth Anne Sigler
PANDORA – Ruth Anne Sigler, 87, of Pandora, died Monday, September 6, 2021 at her home. Ruth Anne was born September 1, 1934 in Continental to William and Marie (Downing) Warner, whom have both preceded her in death. She graduated from Continental High School in 1952 and attended Wittenberg University.
On August 6, 1955 she married Donald L. Sigler, they were blessed with 65 years of marriage until he preceded her in death on March 23, 2021. Surviving children are: Terry Lee (Kim) Sigler of Ottawa, Ted (Shelia) Sigler of Findlay, and Teresa (Scott) Featheringham of Botkins; six grandchildren: Joshua (Michele) Sigler, Jacob Sigler, Jenna Sigler, Brittany Sigler, Brandon (Rachel) Sigler, Bryan (Kim) Sigler; three step grandchildren: Ashley (Zac) Basinger, Austin Featheringham, Andrew (Jen) Featheringham; one great-grandson: Oliver Sigler; two step great-grandchildren: Quinten Basinger and Carter Brunson; her twin sister: Rose Marie (John) Stanton; and a brother: John (Nancy) Warner, both of Continental. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Elizabeth Warner.
Ruth Anne and her husband Don loved to travel, they have visited all 50 states and have been on 2 world cruises. She loved showing pictures and sharing all the wonderful stories from their travels. When they were not traveling, Ruth Anne enjoyed hosting tea parties for family and friends. She collected many tea pots and tea cups over the past years, and displayed them proudly in her home. She also collected Family Circus Cartoon figurines and newspaper clippings by Bil Keane. She met Bil Keane in 1989 and he sketched her a big picture of “Billy” with the “Sigler Family Circus” on the front. She has 12 albums of Family Circus cartoon clippings she has collected over the years.
Ruth Anne worked at Pandora-Gilboa School from1975 thru 1982 as Elementary Librarian and playground monitor. She enjoyed working with the staff and especially being with the elementary children. In 1982 her and her husband bought and managed Sigler Quality Meats for 11 years. She retired and enjoyed being with her family, grandchildren and spending time with her cat and dog, but she was always ready for the next adventure.
A memorial service with be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Reverend Tim Hauenstein officiating Burial will be at a later date in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Pandora. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
