Ryan J. Schroeder
VAN WERT - Ryan J. Schroeder was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend and went home to the Lord suddenly on December 1, 2022 at age 50 at his Van Wert residence. He was born November 21, 1972, in Lima to Jerry and Chris (Christman) Schroeder, his parents survive in Leipsic. On September 21, 1996 he married Amy Kleman and she survives in Van Wert.
Other survivors include two children: Brooke (Alec) Vest of Columbus and Kayla Schroeder, fiancé Ryan Moody, of Perrysburg; two siblings: Nick (Jodi) Schroeder of Deshler, Abby (Brian) Lauer of Lewis Center; mother-in-law, Deb Kleman of FL; three sisters-in-law: Stacy (Alan) Gerschutz of New Bavaria, Stephanie Kleman (Mick Wagler) of FL, and Tricia Moore of Van Wert; brother-in-law, Austin (Sydney) Kleman of Piqua; several nieces and nephews; and 22 surviving cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cyril and Gertrude Schroeder, John and LaDonna Christman, Lefty and Rita Bott, Clem and Rita Steffan; and father-in-law Jerry Kleman.
Since his youth, Ryan had a natural talent for taking apart and repairing items. In high school, he worked for the local hardware and with a local appliance repairman. He graduated from Leipsic High School and the University of Toledo as a Mechanical Engineer. In 1994, he began his career with Aeroquip (Danfoss) in Van Wert, OH and has worked there for over 28 years.
Ryan loved his girls above all things. He would do anything to make them happy and feel loved. He served others unconditionally. He was the first to volunteer to help his family and friends with projects and come up with creative ideas to solve problems. He loved working alongside his dad, friends, and co-workers. He held a patent. Ryan loved his tools, barn, and camping with Amy and his friends in the summer.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Love Heitmeyer Funeral Home (16085 SR-634 Fort Jennings, OH 45844) with a wake service beginning at 7:45 p.m. There will also be visitation at 9 to 10 a.m., one hour prior to the funeral, Wednesday at the St. Mary’s Parish Life Center. Funeral mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (318 State St Leipsic, OH 45856) with Fr. Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Leipsic.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be to the charity of the donor’s choice.
