Samantha Nienberg Obituary

Samantha L. Nienberg

GLANDORF – Samantha L. Nienberg, 40, of Glandorf, passed away 12:15 a.m., Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County in Troy, surrounded by family. She was born on May 28, 1982, in Dayton.

On May 24, 2008, she married the love of her life, Roger Nienberg and made her home in Glandorf. Roger survives her along with her precious children, Ace and Sydney.

Samantha’s grit, grace and fighting spirit was evident in every step of this courageous journey since last July. Samantha loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved laughter and had a way of making everything a good time. She will be remembered for her big personality, humor, strength, and beautiful smile. Samantha touched more lives than she knew, and our family will remain forever grateful for the love, support and random acts of kindness bestowed upon us during these past 13 months. We would not have been able to walk this road with her, without the love, support, and generosity of family, friends, and our community.

Samantha will be forever remembered and honored. She is in the laughter, kindness, grit, sassiness, and strength that her children possess.

After a year of fighting, struggle, and loss, she is now restored and in the loving arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Samantha is survived by her parents Michael and Cynthia August of Troy; two brothers: Jason (Marie) Templeton and their sons, Sebastian and Everett of Canal Winchester and Ryan (Siearra) August and their children, Logan, Gavin, Parker, and Whitney of Jensen Beach, FL; as well as Roger’s parents, Don & Betty Nienberg of Glandorf; Roger’s Aunt, Sister Rebecca Aelker of Bryan; Roger’s Sister, Valarie Zell and her children, Jack and Katie of Floyd Knobs, IN.

Samantha was a US Air Force Veteran, retiring last July after 21 years of service with the Ohio Air National Guard in Springfield. She was also a member of Glandorf Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and she enjoyed their humor, fun times, and camaraderie.

Most recently she was an optician for Glandorf Vision Group. Samantha thoroughly enjoyed her short time there and the love and support she received from her co-workers. She has also been a gym teacher for St. Mary’s School, Leipsic and a spin class instructor for Northwest Physical Therapy, Ottawa – that she made fun for all who joined her.

Samantha was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf, a place that brought her comfort during this journey. She taught CCD in previous years and enjoyed the children she taught.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2022, and one hour prior to the mass on Tuesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Stephen Schroeder and Deacon Don Inkrott officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by WPAFB Honor Guard.
