Sharon Ann Burgei

  KALIDA – Sharon Ann Burgei, 77, of Kalida, passed away at 9:47 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima surrounded by her family. She was born March 17, 1946 in Lima to the late Raymond and Alice (Ricker) Ellerbrock.  On January 2, 1965, she married Norbert I. Burgei, who survives in Kalida.

  Sharon is also survived by a daughter, Janice (Greg) Goergens of Kalida; two grandchildren: Chad (Morgan) Goergens and Adam Goergens; a great-grandson, Zander Goergens; two brothers: Dan (Carol) Ellerbrock and Ken (Nancy) Ellerbrock, both of Kalida; and a sister, Joyce (George) Kleman of Seville.

  She was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Ellerbrock.

  Sharon retired from Philips Display Components, Ottawa, where she was a member of Philips Quarter Century Club. She was also a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida and its Altar Rosary Society. Sharon’s favorite pastime was babysitting her great-grandson, Zander.

  Funeral Mass will begin 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Rick Friebel officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 – 7 p.m. on Monday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
