Thelma P. (Schmitz) Vennekotter
KALIDA – Thelma P. Vennekotter, 92, of Kalida, died at 3:39 a.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 8, 1928 in Glandorf, Ohio to the late Hubert A. and Emma C. (Recker) Schmitz. She married Norbert Vennekotter on April 29, 1950. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2008.
Thelma is survived by her children: Dan (Joan) Vennekotter of Kalida, Bob (Pat) Vennekotter of Glandorf, Randy (Anita) Vennekotter of Brewster, N.Y., Roy (Betsy) Vennekotter of Mishawaka, Indiana and Keith (Jennifer Jeffers) Vennekotter of Glandorf; grandchildren: Mark (Joanna) Vennekotter, Alan Vennekotter, Karen (Charlie) Krolak, Kelly (Brian) Colson, Eric (Erin) Vennekotter, Sasha (Lance) Grover, Nick (Gina Insalaco) Vennekotter and Shelby Vennekotter; great-grandchildren: Ella and Jackson Vennekotter, Caleb, Andrew, Kristen, Jonathan, Justin and Lauren Krolak, Tyler, Josie and Adelyn Colson, Calista, Jace and Aidrik Vennekotter; a sister: Jeannette (Richard) Laudick.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Norma (Bernard) Brown, Helen (Herbert) Teders, and Alice (Ralph) Schroeder.
Thelma was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida, as well as St. Isidore's C.L. of C.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in St. Isidore Cemetery, Cuba. In keeping with the social distancing guidelines, a visitation will be held 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church prior to mass. Masks will be required upon entering the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
