Thomas L. Pohl
OTTAWA - Thomas L Pohl, 76, of Ottawa died at 8:25 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Mercy Health Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center, Glandorf. He was born October 1, 1944 in Lima to the late Frank and Anna (Riepenhoff) Pohl. On February 12, 1992, he married Naomi (Swihart) Sprague and she survives in Ottawa.
Other survivors include three children: Linda (Bill) Dodge of Columbus, Geri (Mark) Ewing and Dawn (Rich) Himsel, both of Lima; five stepchildren: Cynthia Eliot of Markle, IN, Nancy Drummond of Morgantown, PA, Charles (Pamela) Sprague of Lake in the Hills, IL, Terence (Angela) Sprague of Fenton, MI and Trent Sprague of Ft. Wayne, IN; five grandchildren; fifteen step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; numerous step-great-great grandchildren; siblings: Ada (Ken) Bucher of Clyde, NC, Carol (William) Sattler of Delta; Katie (Paul) Hermiller of Ottawa, Alice (Tom) Brinkman of Kalida and Mary Ann (Richard) Van Sickle of Bradenton, FL; and three sisters-in-law, Doris Pohl-Schumaker of Columbus Grove, Eunice Pohl of Haines City, FL and Martha Kleman of Lima.
He was also preceded in death by siblings: David Pohl, Rita (Richard) Stanfield, Gilbert (Mary) Pohl, Bernard Pohl, Ruth Wegesin, Mildred (Bob) Pohl, Irene (Eugene) Okuly, Harold Kleman and Richard (Betty) Kleman; and two step-sons: Brian Eliot and Robert Drummond; a step-granddaughter, Michelle Lau.
Thomas retired after 37 years with Philips of Ottawa. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. Thomas was known for his pristine lawn and beautiful garden and his love for trees.
No services will be held.
Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
