Virginia P. "Jane" Pester

MILLER CITY - Virginia P. "Jane" Pester, 98, died Sunday, September 12, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Miller City, Ohio on December 7, 1922 to the late William and Marie (Dulle) Hermiller. On November 21, 1944 she married Charles Pester, who passed in 2014.

They were great parents to six children: Kenneth (Sue) Pester of Ottawa, Connie (Duane) Maag of Leipsic, Don (Sandy) Pester and Wayne (Lynn) Pester both of Miller City and Alice (Greg) Borgelt of Glandorf. A son, Gerald, passed away in 2013.

Virginia was foremost a homemaker. She worked some part-time jobs, but was well-known for being a water witch. She found water for many homes in the area. She enjoyed playing cards and looked forward to the Wednesday poker game. No one ever left the house hungry. She always had a pie ready to eat. She enjoyed her 21 grandkids and 30 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City and its Altar Rosary, Catholic Ladies of Columbia and Leipsic Eagles Auxiliary.

Virginia is survived by a brother, Paul (Katie) Hermiller.

She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law: August (Cecelia) Hermiller, Lawrence (Eleanor) Hermiller, Robert (Cecelia) Hermiller, Thomas (Joann) Hermiller and William (Rita) Hermiller. A granddaughter, Amber Pester passed in 2006.
