Willes B. Kaufman

   CONTINENTAL – Willes B. Kaufman, 90, of Continental died 10:45 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Heritage of Findlay.  He was born May 3, 1933 in McComb to the late David Jeremiah and Rita (Compton) Kaufman.  On May 1, 1953, he married Dorothy Neal, who survives.

   Also surviving are 4 children:  Mike (Sandy) Kaufman of Defiance, Pam (David) Floyd of Cross Hill, SC, Jill Brecht of Ottawa and Bettyjo (Bob) Zachrich of Marysville; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and a sister:  Doris Winkle of Kalida.

   Willes is preceded in death by  6 siblings and their spouses:  David “Dimples” Kaufman, Jr., Elsie (Paul) Zachrich, Carl (Joyce) Kaufman, Dorothy (Buck) Vaughn, Joann (Dave) Walker and Robert (Marie, and second wife Arlene) Kaufman.

   Willes retired from Louisiana-Pacific (formerly Weatherseal), Ottawa. He proudly served our country as a member of the Army during the Korean Conflict.

   Willes was a member of the Liberty Springs Presbyterian Church, Cross Hill, SC and a former member of Ottawa Missionary Church, Ottawa.  He was a member of the Ohio Buckeye Trail Association and a member of the former North Creek Saddle Club.

   Willes’s funeral service will be 4:00 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Ottawa Missionary Church with Rev. Marshall Metzger officiating.  Burial will be in Monroe Cemetery, Continental at a later date.  Visitation will be on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.  The arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
