William R. Hermiller, Jr.
MILLER CITY - William R. Hermiller, Jr. 84, of Miller City died 6:00 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2021 at his residence. He was born May 27, 1937 in Miller City to the late William F. and Marie (Dulle) Hermiller, Sr. On April 26, 1958 he married Rita Jane Lammers, who preceded him in death on March 12, 2016.
William is survived by 5 children: Dean (Sharon) Hermiller of Glandorf, Daniel (Susan) Hermiller of Miller City, Linda (Charles) Schroeder of Glandorf, Lois (Todd) Riffle of Glandorf and Jeff (Michelle) Hermiller of Ottawa; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother: Paul Hermiller of Kalida and a sister: Virginia Pester of Miller City.
He is preceded in death by 6 brothers: August, Joseph, Leonard, Robert, Lawrence and Thomas Hermiller
William was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City, where he was a former Eucharistic distributor and lector. He retired from the State Health Department and belonged to the Carpenters Union #372. He was a member of the Ottawa K of C, the Ottawa Eagles and the Miller City Sportsman Club.
He was active in the Miller City community, where he served on the Miller City Local School Board for 14 years and was a volunteer fireman, retiring after 20 years.
The funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City with Monsignor Charles E. Singler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. and again Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
