William "Bill"  Warnecke, Sr.

   FORT JENNINGS – William "Bill" Warnecke, Sr., 87, of Fort Jennings died 11:48 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at his residence.  He was born November 29, 1933 in Fort Jennings to the late Lawrence and Verena (Suever) Warnecke.  On June 14, 1958 he married Irene Landwehr, who survives in Fort Jennings.

   Also surviving are 5 children:  Ruth (Glenn) Hellman, Larry (Brenda) Warnecke, Bill (Jan) Warnecke, Jr and Norman (Jan) Warnecke, all of Fort Jennings and Jerry (Terri) Warnecke of Ottawa; 17 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, with one more in June; 5 step-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters:  Eileen Bonifas of Landeck and Betty Calvelage of Fort Jennings; a brother:  Kenny Warnecke of Fort Jennings; and in-laws:  JoAnn (Herk) Menke of Fort Jennings, Joe Landwehr of Ottawa, Rita (John) Martin of Delphos, Elmer (Jane) Landwehr of Kalida, Alice Landwehr of Fort Jennings and Paul Landwehr of Defiance.

   He is preceded in death by 5 siblings:  Marion (Ike) Ricker, Leander (Mary) Warnecke, Richard (Irma) Warnecke, Roger (Esther) Warnecke and Edwin Warnecke and 9 In-laws:  Eva Warnecke, Bob Calvelage, Al Bonifas, Jim Landwehr, Charles (Mary) Landwehr, Mary (Lawrence) Maag, Lillian Landwehr, Alfred (Janet) Landwehr and Eddie Landwehr.

   William was a self-employed mechanic and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings.  He was also a member of the Delphos Eagles #471.  He loved camping and cutting wood and enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Bill Elliot.  He loved his family with all his heart and was fond of his grandkids and great-grandkids and enjoyed their many activities.

    The funeral Mass for William will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 19, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings with Father Charles Obinwa officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at church.  In keeping with COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines, masks and social distancing are required at the church.  The arrangements are by the LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
