Cecilia V. Schroeder

   KALIDA – Cecilia V. Schroeder, 93, of Kalida returned to the Lord on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at The Meadows of Kalida. She was born January 21, 1923 in Columbus Grove to the late Joseph and Mary (Brinkman) Krietemeyer. On April 27, 1946 she married Joseph L. “Jos” Schroeder who died December 5, 1994.

   She is survived by fourteen children: Jane (Roy) Lowe of Florida, Cliff (Janet) Schroeder of Ottawa, Alice (Randy) Hamlin of Findlay, Elton (Jeanette) Schroeder of Glandorf, Sylvia Goodman of Sycamore, Grace (Jim) Ronhovde of New Mexico, Mary Jo (Len) Horstman of Cloverdale, Pat (Barb) Schroeder of Colorado, Donna (Dave) Schnipke of Kalida, Imogene (Steve) Verhoff, Becky (Norm) Gerschutz, and  Nel (Gloria) Schroeder all of Ottawa, and Wil (Sandy) Schroeder and Angie (Michael) Anteau both of Findlay; 32 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and a sister: Agnes Hoffman.

   Also preceding her in death was a grandson, brother: Leonard Krietemeyer, and a sister: Emma Schroeder.

   Cecilia was a homemaker and so much more. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kalida and its Rosary Altar Society. She was the secretary-treasurer of the founding board of trustees of the Putnam County Council on Aging and was a volunteer at The Meadows of Kalida long before she moved there four years ago.

   A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2016 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Love Funeral Home, Ottawa, but family and friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Columbus Grove. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Putnam County Council on Aging or Putnam County Homecare and Hospice.
