Ottoville - Tim J. Maag, 55, Of Ottoville died 10:51 p.m. Friday, July 4, 2014 at The Cleveland Clinic. He was born April 28, 1959 in Ottoville to the late Wilfred "Bill" and Jayne (Niedecken) Maag. On May 10, 1980, he married Deb Powell, who survives.
Tim is also survived by his 3 children: Cody (Christina) Maag of Ottawa Lake, MI., Tyler Maag of Ottoville and Molly Maag at home; 1 brother: Bruce (Teri) Maag of Elida; 2 sisters: Shari (Greg) McMillen of Cridersville and Robin (Rick) Wurth of Cloverdale and 1 brother-in-law: Rick Jacobs of Elida. He is preceded in death by a sister: Deb Jacobs and a sister-in-law, Shirley Maag.
Tim was a butcher and former owner with his father for many years of the Kalida IGA. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville; the Kalida Fish and Game Club and the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and many other outdoor sports. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. One of his favorite past times was going to the lake to spend time with family.
Through his many years in local business, Tim has made so many friends throughout the Ottoville and Kalida communities. He will be greatly missed by them. Tim and his family have truly appreciated the outpouring of love and support that these communities and friends have shown them.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Fr. Jerome Schetter officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 8th from 2 to 8 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Twp., where there will be a scripture service at 2 p.m.
