We are so sorry to hear of Mel's passing. I don't remember your wedding, as it was a long time ago. I was probably in the seminary at the time.

Unfortunately, I didn't know the kids, but I know his wife was/is a treasure. Our sympathy goes to the whole family!

Esther and kids, You have our deepest sympathy on the passing of Mel. We are so blessed to have known Mel. What a great man. He showed his love for God in his love for you, Esther. His children were like grape vines around his table. Love of his parish church was also one of his talents. But mostly I will remember Mel for his smile and soft eyes. They spoke volumes.

Esther and All the Schroeder Family,

Jane and I want to extend our deepest condolences to you and all the Schroeder families. Eileen use to forward some of Mel's emails and I enjoyed them. Mel put up a good fight but God wanted him to come home. It's hard to let someone go but time makes going on easier. Remember the good times often at future family gatherings. I am sure Mel left you all with a few good laughs. He was that kind of man. May God bless you all.
